• Philip Simon is a well respected United States District Court Judge in the Northern District of Indiana, where he has served since 2003. From 1990 to 2003, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Indiana and Arizona.
• Judge Simon was nominated to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in January 2003. The Senate confirmed him to that position in March 2003 by a 97-0 vote. As a district judge, Judge Simon has written opinions on a wide range of complex civil and criminal matters.
• As an Assistant United States Attorney, Judge Simon prosecuted a variety of cases, including drug offenses, firearms violations, mail and wire fraud, government program fraud, kidnapping, bank robberies, public corruption, and sophisticated white collar crime.
  • In 1999, Judge Simon became the Chief of the Criminal Division in the Northern District of Indiana. In that capacity, he oversaw all criminal prosecutions in the Northern District of Indiana and supervised a public corruption task force.

He was voted Prosecutor of the Year in the District of Arizona in 1998 by a vote of all federal agents working in Arizona. • Before serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, Judge Simon worked as an associate at the prestigious firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where he specialized in commercial litigation matters.
